On this, my fourth trip, following the success of my CD recording, I decided to make a video of the choir singing in the desert! By now they'd received their lovely, bright, beautiful costumes, and had recently won a competition, beating other lodge choirs.

In jubilant mood, we set off one (hot and windy) afternoon into the desert, where I then filmed the choir using my very basic video camera (it used tape!). The result - a DVD! Below is a brief clip.

I also took many more astro-images, still using my Nikon D70.

I took one more trip in August 2011 for just one month. Over my four previous trips I had done all I could within my means - creatively, astronomically and financially, and it was now time to say goodbye to the desert. The following few years were occupied with caring for my Dad at home, and following his passing I began my journey into completing my first novel, DJ & The Valley of The Dunes, the inspiration of which had come fourteen years previously will travelling through the real 'dune valley' at Sossusvlei.
