Thanks for stopping by ...
I am a songwriter and producer, self-published author and eternal stargazer! I still use my old guitar, (which I have had since age 13), and am mostly self-taught, having spent much of my teenage years recording my songs in my bedroom using old tape recorders.
As well as my guitar, I play piano and keyboard, ukulele, a bit of folk harp, and operate all my home studio equipment, as well as sing, (something I studied for several years with Jaqueline Bremar).
Many moons ago I was singer/songwriter in a local band called 'Between The Eyes', (named after one of Ralph Steadman's works), and gained much experience performing live. My main passion though is composing and recording, and I play most of the instruments you hear in my songs*.
Among my musical adventures I was invited by Midge Ure to his home studio where he remixed one of my songs. Around that time my song, 'Pooh's Song' (inspired by the classic 'Winnie the Pooh' stories), made it to the final twenty-five in the UK entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. I have performed at various London venues including the original London Marquee and at the Hippodrome, where I wore a sparkly bra, (with large safety pin in the back so that the whole thing didn't ping off mid-song). I performed at Maidstone River Festival in July 2024, and at Faversham Hop Festival in 2025, where I will be performing on the main Market Stage in September this year (2026).
Since then I have produced five solo albums and various singles. Back in 2021 I released an album of previously un-released tracks, entitled: 'Magic Carpet - The D'Arblay Street Demos & Other Songs 1990-2000', which came about thanks to a chap named Colin Vearncombe. If you were around in the '80s then you might recall his hit song, 'Wonderful Life'. It was in his little Soho studio that I recorded most of these songs.
My albums can all be found here on my website, and on all major platforms, including YouTube.
I’ve always been a stargazer, and my later involvement with The South Downs Planetarium led me to writing and recording my instrumental album, 'Planetarium' (2011) and my unforgettable adventures working as Guest Astronomer at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge out in Namibia, which in turn led to me writing my first adventure novel, 'DJ & The Valley of The Dunes' under the pen name Cass Clark, (published 2018), along with my two subsequent children’s full-length novels, 'Orca Sky – The Girl Who Sang With The Whales', (2020), and my humorous tale, 'Fatface & Furballs’ VERY BAD Furday' (2022), which is now also available on Audible, narrated by a very talented young voice character actor named Louis Critchley.
August 2024 saw the release of my new album, 'Living World', and I am currently producing Audible versions of my stories.
